Meet F. AGNOUGA, a dedicated advocate for change in the world of tourism, particularly in the captivating landscapes of Gabon. As a resident of this Central African country, He has witnessed the dominance of international investors in the tourism industry, leaving local communities with limited opportunities to benefit from the thriving sector. His passion for social impact and environmental conservation led him to co-found Gabon EcoSafaris and serve as the National Coordinator of the NGO Gabon Conservation Community Homestay.
F. AGNOUGA’s mission is clear: empower the tribal communities living near Gabon’s national parks to become hosts, showcasing the authentic essence of Gabon while improving their own living conditions and preserving their culture and environment. He recognizes the challenges faced by these communities, from animal-human conflicts to food scarcity resulting from wildlife conservation measures and deforestation.
To address these challenges, he is building a network of hosts, including homestays, traditional food restaurants, local artisans, and smallholder farmers.
