Meet Daren Moodely, a true master of the tourism world! Throughout his career, he has honed his skills in the hotel and leisure sector, reaching the heights of Senior Managerial levels from a very young age. He held strategic executive positions in sales and marketing, training, and food and beverage management in some of the most prestigious establishments in the industry, and has also spent several years as the Research Executive of one the most influent Hotels’ Association in Mauritius, where he was involved in developing groundbreaking policies and process build-ups. With his finger on the pulse of the industry, he has worked as a consultant for both private and public organizations, helping them with event management strategy, operational process build-up, lobbying, networking, and more.

In 2017, the Tourism Authority of Mauritius, Daren’s home country, called upon him to assist with a project called the Sustainable Island Mauritius (SIM). This project aims to promote sustainable tourism through demonstrating and scaling up self-sustaining mechanisms for improving sustainability impact along the value chain and improving awareness and market of sustainable tourism products and services. Today, Daren is the Project Coordinator of this vision under the aegis of the Mauritius Tourism Authority.
