Alexander Haufschild is the co-founder of Socialbnb on a mission to make travel a force for good. Inspired by a chance encounter with a tuk-tuk driver in Cambodia, Alex and his team devised a model to generate funds for local projects by offering accommodations to travelers. This concept evolved into Socialbnb, a platform connecting travelers with accommodations and activities that support social and ecological initiatives globally. With 21 projects across 14 countries supported in 2022, Socialbnb is making a positive impact by providing sustainable income to these projects while offering authentic travel experiences. Challenges lie ahead in balancing quality standards and growth, but Alex remains driven by the positive connections being built and the collaborative efforts for a better future.
